Life moves quickly, and sometimes prioritizing dental care isn’t at the top of your list, especially when nothing hurts, right? At Bryant Family Dentistry, we understand how easy it is to skip a dental checkup or avoid an appointment, but we care about your oral health and want you to keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.

That’s why we want to share some of the signs that it’s time to visit our dental office, even if nothing hurts yet.

5 Signs It’s Time to Visit Your Knoxville Dentist

We never want you to wait until you have a toothache or other painful dental concern before calling our office.

There are several signs that it’s time to schedule a visit, including the following:

  1. You’re overdue for preventive care — If it has been more than six months since your last dental visit, we encourage you to contact us for an appointment. Routine exams and cleanings are the best way to prevent tooth decay and gum disease, as well as address other issues before they worsen.
  2. Your gums are bleeding — If your gums are bleeding when you brush and floss, that isn’t normal. Bleeding gums can indicate early signs of periodontal disease, which can lead to tooth loss if left untreated.
  3. You have persistent bad breath — If you have chronic bad breath, it could be a sign of tooth decay or an infection. It’s best to schedule an appointment to investigate the cause.
  4. You notice cracks or stains — If your teeth are stained, cracked, or have white spots on them, it could indicate a myriad of issues, such as early decay or enamel wear.
  5. You’re clenching or grinding your teeth — If you think you might be clenching or grinding your teeth, it can damage your teeth and cause headaches and jaw tension. We can tailor a treatment plan to help you get your oral health back on track.
