Dr. Chelsea Bryant in Knoxville

Dr. Chelsea Bryant

Dr. Chelsea attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she majored in biology and minored in chemistry. Her passion for understanding health on a broader scale led her to a Master's in Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Shortly after earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, she and her husband, Dr. Jim Bryant, founded Bryant Family Dentistry.

Dentistry for Dr. Chelsea is deeply personal. A family member's traumatic accident showcased the challenges and triumphs of dental care. Additionally, being born with a missing tooth gave Chelsea firsthand insight into the emotional impact of dental health on one's self-esteem. These experiences fueled her drive to help others reclaim their smiles and confidence. For her, there’s no greater joy than the moment she hands over the mirror to patients, allowing them to see their transformed smiles. Dr. Chelsea thrives on building genuine connections with patients, sharing stories and laughter, and creating memorable dental experiences.

When away from the dental chair, Dr. Chelsea immerses herself in books, aiming to read about 50 a year. Riding has been a part of her life since age five, and she rides 4 to 5 days a week with her beloved horses, Suri and Remi, competing in hunters and jumpers. Off the track, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes, cozying up with her pets—chihuahuas Clover and Ivy and cat Forrest—or traveling with Jim to explore places like Charleston, Asheville, and Seattle. And if you ever want to strike a different chord of conversation with Dr. Chelsea, ask about her cello-playing journey since sixth grade!

Dr. Jim Bryant knoxville tn

Dr. Jim Bryant

Dr. Jim Bryant graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a degree in economics, then attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014. With this solid foundation, he and Dr. Chelsea opened Bryant Family Dentistry in 2021, turning their shared vision into reality.

Dr. Jim’s desire to enter the dental field was inspired by his uncle, a retired dentist, who always spoke highly of the career and the profound impact it had on people’s lives. Today, he looks forward to moments where he can enhance a patient's day, whether it's addressing a dental concern, alleviating apprehensions, or sharing valuable insights.

Away from the practice, Dr. Jim is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys watching a good movie with the couple’s chihuahuas, Clover and Ivy, and their cat, Forrest. He enjoys traveling, which often complements his unique hobby of collecting bottles of bourbon. Together with Dr. Chelsea, he frequently explores distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, indulging in their shared passion. He is also an Eagle Scout, following his father, who is a scoutmaster.

One fun fact that people might not know about Dr. Jim is that he was a two-year letter winner on the Montgomery Bell Academy Cross Country team. To accomplish this, he ran a 5K race in less than 18 minutes and 30 seconds in both his junior and senior years.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Kim attended East Tennessee State University, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She has been dedicated to the dental field since 2005 and joined the Bryant Family Dentistry team in 2021.

What first drew Kim to dentistry was the power of a genuine smile, which she always notices when first meeting people. In her role as a hygienist, Kim provides dental prophy and fluoride treatments, takes x-rays, delivers local anesthetic, and treats periodontal disease through scaling and root planing. Beyond her technical skills, she loves building relationships with patients and their families, helping them achieve their best oral health.

Outside of work, Kim cherishes time with her family, especially traveling with her husband and daughter. When she’s not on the move, she's an avid pool player, and one fact people may not know about Kim is that she lived in Arizona for a year before returning to Knoxville.

What Tina finds most rewarding is building connections. Whether it's comforting a nervous patient or sharing a laugh with the team, she cherishes every relationship she cultivates within our dental family. Her decision to pursue a career in dentistry was influenced by the exceptional care and experience she received from her childhood dentist, which instilled in her a desire to provide the same level of compassion and professionalism to others.

Away from the clinic, Tina is an avid reader and baker and loves beach vacations. An animal lover at heart, Tina has three furry companions at home. She believes in giving rescue dogs a second chance, and her favorite breeds are Shih Tzus and dachshunds.

Lexi

Registered Dental Assistant

As a dental assistant, Lexi’s range of responsibilities ensures our patients receive the best care possible. Her key duties include keeping patients comfortable during procedures, sterilizing instruments, cleaning operatories, and ensuring the clinic's inventory is well-stocked and organized.

Lexi's decision to join dentistry was driven by her desire to help individuals feel more confident in their smiles. She pursued her education at Walter State Community College before honing her skills at the Dental Staff School. Having been a part of the dental field since 2016, Lexi became a valued member of our team in 2021.

One of the things Lexi cherishes most about her role is the sense of camaraderie and respect that permeates the office. She takes pride in getting to know her patients, understanding their concerns, and ensuring they feel at ease during their visits.

Away from the clinic, Lexi enjoys wake surfing on the lake, exploring new places with her husband, and reading a good book.
